Noelani Stormy's Arrival

Here is our baby girl that we've been dying to meet Noelani Stormy. She was born on Nov 23, 2011 and weighed in at 7 pounds even and 19 inches long. Here is the story of Ms. Stormy's arrival.

On November 23 I had a doctors appointment and decided to run some errands before going in for my weekly check up. I went to Walmart to buy a few things to pack in my hospital bag and then went for a much needed mani & pedi. Right after I went to my doctors office and was told that I was 4 cm dilated and my blood pressure was a bit high, so the doctor decided to send me over to get induced. I called Peanut  and told him what was going on and that I was on my way to pick him up and then hurry home to pick up our bags. Made some calls to let my son and friends know what was going on.

Once we were leaving our house I started to have contractions and once we arrived at the hospital they really started kicking in. I was surprised to see my son  Mike at the hospital waiting for us (he got there before us lol). So we waited to be checked in like a hotel and was whisked away to our room for the next 12 hours. I got machines and Iv's hooked up and the process of labor began. I wanted to have a drug free all natural birth but after the labor really started kicking in, I decided "This is my last one so let's me enjoy this and let's have a nice & smooth labor".  "Epidural Please"!

Having my men in my life, Peanut (Gaby) and Mike (son) there was really important to me and plus we are all the family we have here in the east coast. My son had warned me that he wouldn't be there once I started pushing so I was ready to have Peanut there with me but when it came time Mike stayed and helped to support me through the serious pain I was feeling. He made sure to stay to the very top of my bed. lol  The pain was REALLY bad and the drugs weren't doing anything for me at that point. The pressure and pain was unbearable and then it was time to push thank goodness since I was starting to lose it.

After 4 pushes and the support of my amazing team of Peanut, Mike, Dr. Collado, and my nurse Jaime. We welcomed our Thanksgiving eve baby Noelani Stormy into the world. This is the second best day of my life (first day was my son Mike 18 years ago) and we're blessed to have a healthy and beautiful little girl in our lives.

Baby Shopping and Deals 11.6.2011

So, yesterday I came out with the bright idea to go baby shopping. Thinking that it wouldn't be busy and crazy since it's football Sunday. NOT! The way it was out there you would think it was Black Friday or the holidays already. It was crazy busy but we were able to handle it and do a little bit of shopping that I wanted to share with ya'll.

First trip was Babies R Us and with no success finding stuff and with the use of coupons. I've become a coupon queen and hate buying stuff without coupons. So, we decided to stop by Petco for Geena Laani's food that I had $5 off coupons for and to pick up her b-day gift. After we went to Buy Buy Baby since I have better luck with finding great deals with clearance and they are ALWAYS sending coupons by mail. Peanut and I searched the clearance rack to only find 4 outfits and then strolled about looking at bottles and interactive mobiles. (Not to self don't go on weekends and stick to my week shopping visits)

I came across a great deal with Huggins diapers and was curious if they honor Manufacture and competitors coupons. To my surprise they do and I was all over this deal. They had Huggins Little Movers in size 4 count 24 for $7.99 and all other sizes and Huggins types for $9.99 (except Pure and Naturals). I had coupons from Babies R Us for $2.50 off Huggins brand and took full advantage of the size 4 since we needed to stock up on larger sizes from our last diaper haul.

All in all we purchased 3 packs of diapers, 2 outfits, nail clippers, travel baby wipes, and a 3 pack of Avent Bottles for a total of $39.40. Not to bad for a little bit of baby shopping.

36 Weeks and Almost 9 Months

YES WE GOT A PICTURE!!! About time this little one stop fighting. The ultrasound tech was able to get us this picture and a few others to get a look at our baby. This little monster is at 6 pounds now and I still have 4 more weeks to go. SCARED A BIT. Why you ask? Well, my son was only 6 pounds 3 oz and I was 6 pounds 2 oz. Are you getting the idea now why I'm scared? If I keep going this little one might be around 8 pounds. Which it normal but in our family, we don't normally carry big babies. But that being said, as long as we have a good labor and a healthy and happy baby, then that's all that matters!

Now let me say that this baby is EXTREMELY active and loves to get into my lugs and not let me breath. It's gotten so rough to sleep that for the last 2 months or so I have to sleep sitting up. I prompt myself every night with 3 pillows and sleep sitting up against the headboard. If that wasn't enough, he/she has also become a bit nocturnal. There is times that I can be in a nice deep sleep and the kicking begins and WOW it can be painful sometimes.

Otherwise, I'm in good health and have gain so far around 17 pounds. I'm still dealing with anytime sickness, motion sickness, and all of the other side effects of being pregnant that people forget to tell me about. One that is the most painful is the tunder crotch. That's right, you read that correct. It's when the baby is in position and is putting pressure on your hips and pelvis. I've been dealing with this for 1.5 months and it has not gotten any better of course. But at least I know this child is in the right position for a natural labor.

6 3/4-7 Months and Still No Pics

You read right! This baby is has a personally already and doesn't want to flip over and say hi to us. He/She's been in the same position for the last 3 months and seem very content. I question the doctor about this, but she says that it's perfectly ok and normal as long as he/she's moving and growing. And let me tell you that there is no problems there (TY Lord). He/She is extremely active and now is weighing in at 2 pounds 9 oz.

As for prepare for our bundle of joy, we are in the market for a travel system and more clothes to get us started. I've done research and think I've found a travel system that would work well for baby and us. I won't be sharing that yet since you can figure out then what the sex of this little trouble maker is. lol Here comes trouble!

Is It OK To Polish My Nails?

I've read a lot lately about nail polish and pregnancy and wondered what's all the talk about. Well, most articles I've come across is about dibutyl phthalate (DBP), a chemical found in most brands. Some experts believe that exposure could be harmful to your fetus, but there’s no evidence that the occasional man/pedi is unsafe. To be safe look for polish that doesn't include DBP, formaldehyde or toluene on the ingredient list. Here are a few lines of nail polish that I can recommend that are free of these chemicals.

Nude Nail Polish: Zoya Nail Polish in Shay
Zoya is free from harmful chemicals and a vegan line.

OPI and Sephora OPI  is also free from harsh chemicals.

Update on Baby Watch 2011

I'm 23.5 weeks now and it's been coming along good. I'm not as sick as I was before but still dealing with it here and there. I'm embracing my belly and baby is moving like a break dancer in there. We have found out the sex but only telling close family and friends until we announce to everyone soon on my new youtube vlog.

I've been getting ultrasounds every month and the last 2 times, baby doesn't want to cooperate with us and the tech. She has been face down across my belly and we've haven't gotten pictures to share with ya'll. (sad face) But as long as he/she is healthy and active that's all that matters.

Stay tuned for pictures of the nursery, baby hauls, and more of Baby Watch 2011.

Bargain Crib Bedding Shopping

So now that we have the crib, the next thing we need is bedding set and mattress. After searching on different baby sites and even on Ebay, I realized that crib bedding prices are ridiculous. So after a lot more searching I found sets on Walmart's website for the lowest prices. I was more interested in 4 piece bedding sets that include crib sheet, bumper, comforter, and bed skirt. I like to change sets and looks of the bedroom every month or so. Yeah, I know I'm a bit crazy but I did the same for my son Mikey when he was a baby. He had like 6 bedding sets. You get the idea ;)

Here are a few low price bedding I found and you can also save more money by getting your items shipped to you local store for free.

Disney Baby - Pooh's Playful Day 4-Piece Pooh Bedding Set
Disney Baby Pooh Set 4 Piece $39

Seed Sprout - 4-Piece Damask Crib Bedding Set, Black and White
Seed Sprout 4 Piece $67

Chelsea & Main - Soft Twinkle 4-Piece Crib Bedding Set, Blue

Chelsea & Main 4 Piece in Blue and available in Pink $47

Garanimals - Crib Bedding Set
Garanimals 4 Piece $25

Mattress is another one that you can get a great one but pay an arm and a leg for something you'll be using for only a few years. I might sound like a cheap ass to you but again babies grow fast and they are pretty expensive if you don't watch your spending. After doing a search for mattresses and searching at the store, I found IKEA for having the best prices for new product. Prices start at $34.99 and up to $89.99. You can also find gently used mattresses on Craigslist.org.

17.5 Weeks and Counting

It's been sometime since I blogged on here and so much as been going on. We had an ultrasound at our 12 weeks and the pictures are below. But so much time has passed that were now 2 weeks away from our 20 week ultrasound and we get to found out what we'll be having. Which I didn't want to found out but seeing how nothing is unisex anymore, it's making shopping impossible.

Now when it comes to baby shopping, so far we have purchased a play yard ( I still call them playpens), 1 pack of diapers, and we got a awesome deal on the crib. I must share the crib story since I've become such a barginsta and won't be spending much on baby stuff since they grow so quick and you can get great stuff off of Craigslist.org. So, we were shopping at Burlington for Mikey's graduation clothes (first baby lol) and decided to take a look at the Baby Depot department. Gaby and I started looking at cribs and I noticed a price tag of $99.00 for a medium brown full size crib with a changing table attached. WHAT!!! I thought this must be wrong or it's for the floor display which was in really good condition. I went on a hunt to ask and long story short, they were sold out but we were able to purchased the floor display with changing table and changing pad for $99.00 before tax. YAY! Once it's up and put together we will take pics and I will post.

13-14 Weeks And Counting

I feel like time is going SUPER slow. We're 13.5 weeks and feel like I should really be 6 months by now. But, as slow as time feels like it's going I do see differences in my body. My belly is popping out and my boobs are a lot more fuller and heavy feeling. My clothes are filling a bit tight but I have lost a total of 11 pounds. I'm eating a lot more healthy and don't have much of an appetite. Don't get me wrong I do crave stuff but I eat in moderation.

Still dealing with constipation and the doctor recommend a OTC product that's safe enough for the full pregnancy. Colace has made my life so much easier and a lot more painless. TY Dr. Collado!

11 weeks And Counting

This week I had my doctors appointment and my blood pressure is still high for some reason. :( But I got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Fun and amazing! Oh, and I had to get some advice from the doctor for the constipation since it's turned into an extreme problem. She recommended some OTC stool softener and it worked. TY Lawd!

May 5 and Whoa Baby Week 9

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!! Yea, I won't be celebrating it like I thought I was this year but there is always next year. We're at 9 weeks now and I lost 10 Ibs from being so sick. We found a doctor (thank goodness) and was given meds for my blood pressure since it was a bit high, nausea & vomiting meds, and prenatal vitamins. So far the Zofran works a little bit but not enough and doctor is staying if it doesn't get better I might have to do a med pump connected to me for the nausea & vomiting.

Now the newest things this week have been constipation that I never have issues with (sorry if to much TMI) and now I'm craving food. I'm loving anything sour (olives and green apples w/ lime and salt) fruits, and crave some home cooking from Puerto Rico. Everyday is a new crave but I still don't eat much and want to stay eating healthy.

The boys have been great and I'm really blessed to have them to help and support me while I feel so blah!

Search Is On For A Doc

Still sick as a dog but that's usual as I can tell so far. I have tried everything but nothing has really worked so far.  Now, the search is ON for a doctor. We've been searching and haven't really been impressed so far but after more searching, I've found a handful for interviews. Wish us luck!

Were in our 6 week

We had our first real consultation with a High Risk OB/GYN and an ultrasound done on Monday April 11, 2011. We got to see our little sweet pea and see it's heart, spine, and we even heard the heart beat. Since we found out were prego, this is the first that I really got excited. It really hit me that "We are having a baby"!

Sickness has gotten worst but last night I used the bathroom 7 times and haven't had any sickness yet. Fingers crossed.

April 10 and What A Tough Time

It's been a rough week for me and the boys. I've been dealing with really bad vomiting, nausea, and fatigue. I'm also dealing with mood swings and feeling very insure of myself since my skin is changing for the worst. I've missed work 2 days in a row and really don't know how I will be going back this coming week. I'm just hoping that things get better in the second trimester. Fingers crossed!

I wanted to give a special TY to my boys Gaby & Mikey for being there for me and helping me through this. I love you both so much and TY for your support.

April 6 And It's My Birthday

I didn't sleep good last night and dealt with acid burps (cough drops help that), nausea, peeing, and boob ache. What a fun filled night i must say. This morning I get up and G tells me Happy Birthday and for a few seconds I looked at him like "What the hell are you talking about"? I forgot it was my bday. Let's see how the rest of this day plays out since I feel like crap and have to go to work.

I told G last night that he needs to play the lottery so we can win and I can stop working. lol Have a great one and Happy Birthday to me. :)

April 4 Bloating & Boobs Hurt

So it's been about the same for the last few days of the usual morning/afternoon sickness. My boobs hurt like I don't know what and very tender to the touch and my clothes are feeling a bit tight already. My appetite is minimal and I do crave fruit and veggies.

I really want to have a healthy pregnancy and baby so I plan to workout through my 10 months and beyond. I know it will be a hard but I must stick to it for baby and me.

March 31 No More Bloating

Yes, the bloating has gone away thank goodness but not for long I hear. I went to my cardiologist today and everything went well. My blood pressure was ok especially since I stop taking my meds last weekend. I have to get an EGK and he wants to see what my OB has to say about my meds and then I have to go back to see him.

He also questioned why I needed a high risk doctor??? I'm wondering that too. To be continued.........

Bloating & Juicy Mouth March 30, 2011

Today is the second day of feeling very bloated and of course nausea with super juicy mouth. From what I read, it's all normal what I'm experiencing. I signed up on What To Expect and it has helped me a lot with what I'm feeling and how my Sesame (my baby) is growing. Pretty kool!

Today is also my first day back to my pt gig after finding out our big news and it's going to be a big & busy day. I hope that I'm able to beat some face (apply makeup) without getting sick. Lawd, help me.

P.S I'm wanting some chicken nuggets.

Psi Band

Gaby found this for me since my morning sickness, nausea, and motion sickness has been off the hook. This is the Psi Band (pronounced "Sigh Bands") and it's a acupressure wrist bands for the relief of nausea due to morning sickness, motion sickness/ travel, chemotherapy, and anesthesia. We were able to find it at Buy Buy Baby for $12.99 and of course I had a coupon for $5.00 off from Bed Bath & Beyond with a $15 dollar purchase. I also got a Hello Kitty TY stuff animal. We purchase the cherry blossom design since I love them.

I must say that it does help but after a while of wearing, it does leave a mark (it wear off after a few hours) and can get uncomfortable if you wear it over night. But, it's waterproof and again it works. And it was on Oprah's O list and you know what that means, whatever she touches is gold.

I Had A Feeling Something Was Going On

I've been not been feeling like myself for the last few weeks and then notice that I was suppose to get my period around the 14 or so of March. That come and went and thought "Maybe I'm just last". Well, to be honest I'm really never late and was just not even thinking that I might be pregnant. That week passed and still nothing, so decided to take a test. As most of you know I'm a budget Queen and purchase the Target brand (3 in box) HPT (home pregnancy test). Big mistake since they all 3 didn't work and was left with a big ? on my face wondering "What's the hell is going on?"

So, last week I really started feeling crappy and dealing w/ bad migraines, nausea, and dizziness and still no period. I had a feeling but I was going through the denial phase and just telling myself that "It will show up" (I do talk to myself a lot lol). I went into work and was feeling horrible and one of my mangers said hi to me and my response back was not my cheerful self. She had asked what's wrong and told her I was not feeling good and she asked if I might be prego (I like saying and using prego). That's when it hit me and I answered I think I might be but please keep it quiet.

After that everyone keep asking if I was feeling o.k since I was so pale and just not looking like myself. Then, my other manger asked me what was wrong and then instantly asked if I was pregnant. I answered that I might and she asked if I had taken a test and explained what happened. I stayed at work and my lovely manager keep insisting on me taking a test a.s.a.p and telling me that I was prego. I promised her I would and she would be on the top of the list to tell my results.

Saturday March 26, 2011 I woke up early in the morning and went to Walmart w/ G and purchase a single test and came straight home. I went to the bathroom and took the test and we waited in the bedroom with our timers on. After 4 minutes I went to the bathroom and my first words to G were "Gaby Were F*cking Pregnant". Not the way I had thought the moment would work out but I did it my own way (lmao).

After, I decided to wake Mikey (my son) and share the news and his reaction was funny as hell. He accused us of lying and when we showed him the test and still didn't believe us. He told us that we were messing w/ him. It was really funny.

I couldn't wait and called my cousin Jennifer and my bestie Jahnne to share the news. I took a picture and shared with close friends and family. But even after all that I was still shocked and in a bit of denial and went to the doctor on Monday March 28. The results were not fast enough and I took another test yesterday in the car. Shocker! It was positive and that's when I said OK I'm really prego.  I called G and told him and he just started laughing.

I got the call from the doctor today March 29 with a congrats and was told that I was consider as a high risk pregnancy due to my high blood pressure.

It's Official I'm Going to Be A Mami Again

Hi Ya'll! Here goes my first post about G & I's new adventure in life. We're having a baby! Yes, I know I have a baby already (now a man) but it's our first child together and pretty much my first again after 18 years. I'm feeling so scared, shocked, confused, and can I say shocked again. We are super excited and looking forward to these 9 months and will be sharing with you our friends and family what's going on every step.

Get ready and feel free to comment. XOXO
