Babo Botanicals

"What goes on children's bodies should be as natural as what goes into their mouths."
- Kate Solomon Creater of Babo Botanicals

With our little Stormy being 14 weeks now, I've been trying different skin care products to see which one we love for her favorite time of the day "Bath Time". After being out the game (the baby game) for so long there is such much stuff out there to try instead of the traditional J&J (Johnson & Johnson) we all have grown up on and used. Nothing wrong with J&J and other lines that have been around forever, but we just wanted to use something new and more natural/organic for Stormy.

2 weeks ago I came across a deal on Plum District for an organic skin line called Babo Botanicals. It was created by a mom of 3 that has worked in the beauty industry for sometime and wanted a skin/hair care line for her kids that was good for them. The line is made on a certified organic farm in upstate New York. "They  sources the highest quality botanicals from around the world, emphasizing fair trade while also dedicated to supporting local NY industries. Babo Botanical products are made in small batches to ensure close attention to detail and promote the highest level of quality assurance." (taken from Babo website)

I ordered the Lavender Meadowsweet 3 in 1 Bubble Bath and Shampoo and Wash & lotion and Berry Primrose Detangler. They both smell so good and great aromatherapy for baby. The bath soap is super softening and so gentle on the skin. The detangler is great for anyone and leaves your hair soft and shiny. Stormy has a some crazy hair in the morning and it works great to refresh and get rid of her morning hair.

I would love to hear if you have used Babo and what are your thoughts on it.

Noelani Stormy's Arrival

Here is our baby girl that we've been dying to meet Noelani Stormy. She was born on Nov 23, 2011 and weighed in at 7 pounds even and 19 inches long. Here is the story of Ms. Stormy's arrival.

On November 23 I had a doctors appointment and decided to run some errands before going in for my weekly check up. I went to Walmart to buy a few things to pack in my hospital bag and then went for a much needed mani & pedi. Right after I went to my doctors office and was told that I was 4 cm dilated and my blood pressure was a bit high, so the doctor decided to send me over to get induced. I called Peanut  and told him what was going on and that I was on my way to pick him up and then hurry home to pick up our bags. Made some calls to let my son and friends know what was going on.

Once we were leaving our house I started to have contractions and once we arrived at the hospital they really started kicking in. I was surprised to see my son  Mike at the hospital waiting for us (he got there before us lol). So we waited to be checked in like a hotel and was whisked away to our room for the next 12 hours. I got machines and Iv's hooked up and the process of labor began. I wanted to have a drug free all natural birth but after the labor really started kicking in, I decided "This is my last one so let's me enjoy this and let's have a nice & smooth labor".  "Epidural Please"!

Having my men in my life, Peanut (Gaby) and Mike (son) there was really important to me and plus we are all the family we have here in the east coast. My son had warned me that he wouldn't be there once I started pushing so I was ready to have Peanut there with me but when it came time Mike stayed and helped to support me through the serious pain I was feeling. He made sure to stay to the very top of my bed. lol  The pain was REALLY bad and the drugs weren't doing anything for me at that point. The pressure and pain was unbearable and then it was time to push thank goodness since I was starting to lose it.

After 4 pushes and the support of my amazing team of Peanut, Mike, Dr. Collado, and my nurse Jaime. We welcomed our Thanksgiving eve baby Noelani Stormy into the world. This is the second best day of my life (first day was my son Mike 18 years ago) and we're blessed to have a healthy and beautiful little girl in our lives.
